Rescue & Recover Fund Governance
What is an endowment fund?
Endowment funds are designed to help finance public-benefit causes.
Created under French law in 2008, they are independent entities with
their own legal personality that entitle their donors to tax exemptions
in France. Easy to set up, by individuals and companies alike, their
purpose is to assist and support different causes.
How do I know if I qualify to give to the Rescue & Recover Fund?
The Rescue & Recover Fund is accessible to all BNP Paribas clients in France, to all BNP Paribas Group employees around the world, as well as to all members of the “Association Des Retraités” (ADR - Association for retired BNP Paribas employees) in France.
What were the selection criteria for the Fund's three Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) partners )?
The for NGOs selected as partners are leading humanitarian organisations, whose work and professionalism make them benchmarks in their respective fields. Their front-line expertise means that BNP Paribas can act quickly and effectively to help vulnerable people groups. In addition, the type of aid they deliver and the regions they focus their efforts on complement each other.
How are the projects and places where aid is delivered chosen?
The Rescue & Recover Fund can provide aid to help any humanitarian emergency in France or abroad.
Depending on the specific needs on the ground, the Fund's NGO-partners put forward a list of projects to the Fund’s Board, which is chaired by Baudouin Prot.
The Fund's trustees, supported by qualified experts in humanitarian work, then choose which projects to support.
Can I choose which organisation my donations go to?
The Rescue & Recover Fund was launched in close partnership with four NGOs (CARE, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and IFAW), to best respond to the needs of vulnerable populations and to act quickly when emergencies happen.
Supplemented by a matching contribution from BNP Paribas, all donations are distributed equally between the four NGOs who carry out the work that the Fund supports.
Are my donations eligible for tax exemptions?
Rescue & Recover Fund donations are eligible for tax exemptions in France and Luxembourg, in accordance with the tax regimes in each country.
